Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of The Ledger. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your region) to use The Ledger. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. Provide accurate information and don't impersonate others.

2. Your content

You own the content you create — your ratings, reviews, lists, and comments. By posting it, you grant us a limited license to host, display, and share it as needed to operate the app and its social features (for example, showing a review to your friends or on a leaderboard). You can delete your content or your account at any time.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use The Ledger to:

• Post unlawful, hateful, harassing, or infringing content.
• Spam, scrape, or abuse other members or the service.
• Attempt to break, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the app or its security.
• Misrepresent your identity or another person.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

4. Third-party content

Film, television, and book information and artwork are provided by third parties, including The Movie Database (TMDB) and Google Books, and remain the property of their respective owners. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. The Ledger is not affiliated with any studio, network, or publisher.

5. Intellectual property

The Ledger app, brand, design, and original content are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. These terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

6. Termination

You may stop using The Ledger and delete your account at any time from inside the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if required to protect the service or other members.

7. Disclaimers

The Ledger is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that metadata is accurate or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Ledger and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
